Upcoming Summer Programs

Program Intentions

Since 1995, Mike Giardi has been putting together a wide variety of programs to give young ball players the opportunity to fine tune their skills under the guidance of professional and collegiate players and coaches.  The players will learn how to improve their game through drill work that the staff has used throughout their playing and coaching careers.  Our programs feature different teaching tools including:

Tee Work               Bunting Drills                         Sliding Drills         Throwing Mechanics

Radar Gun              Soft Toss Drills                      Fielding Work       Cage Work

All of these drills are designed to help improve a young player’s game while having fun

                           Facilities

Swampscott—The New Swampscott Little League Fields located behind the Swampscott Middle School (formerly the High School) are perfectly suited for an outdoor camp with two Little League/Softball Fields as well as a fully enclosed outdoor batting cage.

Marblehead—Getchell’s Playground located just off of Route 114 in Marblehead offers not only four little league fields, but a turf practice area as well as two full batting cages.

Both of these facilities has everything the Hit Zone could ask for in an outdoor setting.

                                                                           Tuition

Swampscott Program $175 for non-members and $150 for members Brochure

                          Health

All care and precaution will be given to each player by our on-staff trainer.  All participants must provide health and immunization records when registering.  The Hit Zone’s trainers are all certified and are qualified in CPR and First Aid.  In the past our trainers have been Courtney Oak, Lisa Dupuis, and Jen Wasylak.

What to Bring

Sneakers /Turf Shoes/Cleats (no metal spikes)

Gym Clothing

Fielding Glove

If you wish to bring your own equipment, such as a helmet or bat, you may do so, but please mark all of your equipment.  Equipment tends to look alike and The Hit Zone cannot be responsible for lost equipment.  The Hit Zone will provide bats, balls, batting helmets, and catching equipment for the players.

It is also recommended, although not required, that ball players bring batting gloves to protect their hands from blisters that may develop from the number of swings taken.
